Specialist article in the sportärztezeitung: CO₂ laser treatment of the ingrown toenail

As part of our partnership with the sportärztezeitung, a specialist article was published on CO₂ laser treatment of the ingrown toenail as a sport-friendly alternative to classic surgery (e.g. wedge resection / Emmert plasty). The article situates the method from a sports-medicine perspective, examines indication, procedure and aftercare, and names Nagelneu Laser Frankfurt as a specialised centre with a high case volume and particular experience with physically active patients.

2nd place at the medmedia HEALTH AWARD – Digitalisation category

At the medmedia HEALTH AWARD 2025, the Nagelneu Laser specialist practice was recognised for the consistent digitalisation of patient-facing processes and came second in the Digitalisation category. The assessment covered, among other things, the use of digital tools during first contact, structured photo assessment, online appointment booking and transparent information on costs and informed consent.

Medical continuing education with Dr. med. Thomas Pierson – treatment options for ingrown toenails

In a two-hour continuing-education session, Dr. Pierson spoke on the anatomy, risk factors and surgical procedures for ingrown toenails. The focus was on comparing classic procedures (e.g. wedge excision) with laser-surgical ablation of the nail matrix. A specially recorded surgical sequence illustrated the course of a CO₂ laser treatment on the big toenail.

Continuing education: surgical solutions for foot problems in GP and dermatology practices

As part of a collegial continuing-education session for GPs and dermatologists, we presented the laser-surgical treatment of the ingrown toenail and additionally addressed the rheumatic foot as well as plastic-surgical options for foot ulcers. The event was free of charge; certification was applied for with the Hessian State Medical Association.

Talk by Dr. med. Manfred Wobig – laser procedures for ingrown toenails

At the invitation of the Mrs. Sporty Club Seeheim, Dr. Wobig spoke to physically active participants about the causes of recurring ingrown toenails and the advantages of a minimally invasive laser treatment — in particular for people with a high training frequency who want to be able to bear weight again quickly.

First continuing-education event on the laser procedure for ingrown toenails

The kick-off continuing-education session on the CO₂ laser procedure launched our series of collegial specialist events. Physicians from the Rhine-Main region gained a practical insight into the indication, procedure and aftercare of the laser-surgical treatment of ingrown toenails.
